We are thrilled to have another exciting installment of our lecture series next week on 2/18 at 10 am CT from Alex Merose. 

Title: Everything old is new again: bringing the relational model to climate data

Alex Merose is an applied ML researcher focused on climate and weather. Currently, he is working on physical ocean emulation at Open Athena in collaboration with M²LInES, NYU and MIT. He is known for contributing to a few projects in this domain: ARCO-ERA5, Weatherbench 2, Xee, MetNet v3, and GraphCast. He recently has been thinking a lot about databases. He loves to travel and cares a lot about climate change.
