Hi Geo-AI Working Group,
We are thrilled to have another exciting installment of our lecture series next week on 4/29 at 10 am CT from Dr. Qiusheng Wu.
Title: Open-Source GeoAI in Action

Dr. Qiusheng Wu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography & Sustainability at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and an Amazon Scholar. His research focuses on advancing open-source geospatial analytics through cloud computing and GeoAI. He is the creator and maintainer of several widely used open-source Python packages, including geemap, leafmap, segment-geospatial, and geoai. His work bridges remote sensing, Earth observation, and artificial intelligence to make large-scale geospatial analytics more accessible, reproducible, and intelligent.
In this talk, Dr. Wu will discuss how GeoAI is turning satellite imagery into actionable insights at scale, and how open-source tools are lowering the barrier to advanced spatial intelligence.
