Hey Geo-IA WG,
Join us tomorrow for a lecture on GeospatialVLM - Towards unified vision-language intelligence for Earth Observation

Guneet Mutreja is a doctoral researcher at the German Aerospace Center, primarily focussing on self-supervised methods and foundational models to extract relevant information from satellite and aerial imagery to support Digital Twins. Previously, he served as a Senior Product Engineer at Esri R&D Center in New Delhi, where he played a pivotal role in developing the ArcGIS API for Python and Esri's specialized pretrained models in the GeoAI suite.
Shashank Vasisht is a GeoAI and computer vision researcher currently working as a Data Scientist II at Esri R&D Center. His work lies at the intersection of remote sensing, foundation models, self-supervised learning, and vision-language reasoning. At Esri, he contributes to the ArcGIS Learn Python API and focuses on translating state-of-the-art geospatial AI research into practical workflows for remote sensing and spatial analysis. He is particularly interested in building scalable AI systems that make geospatial intelligence more accessible, automated, and useful for real-world decision-making.
