FEATURED ARTIST: MARIAN JACKSON, MDA
------------------------------------------------------------
I had the pleasure of attending one of Marian Jackson's coloured
pencil classes at HOOT. She is a multi-talented artist who paints in
oils, and also designs web sites.
------------------------------------------------------------
CREATIVITY CORNER: PAT DEWS
------------------------------------------------------------
Pat Dews is a mixed media artist. I recently got her book "Creative
Composition & Design" and video "Designing Great Starts with Texture
and Form", and found them both to be wonderful learning experiences.
------------------------------------------------------------
BEADING CORNER: BEAD EMBROIDERY
------------------------------------------------------------
Now that I know that several of you, like me, have gotten into
beading, I hope you won't mind if I include the occasional beading-
related snippet in the newsletter.
Even if you are not into beading, I think you will enjoy the artwork
on these sites.
Robin Atkins has taken bead embroidery to a new level. Much of her
work is done improvisationally, i.e. without a plan. This gives a
wonderful free quality to her work.
Larkin Van Horn is a quilt artist who includes bead embroidery in her
work. Her new book "Beading on Fabric", is a combination of how-to
instruction and a gallery of her amazing work. Check out her framed
art, as well as her fabric vessels and wearable art.
