While the focus of this lesson is education about who the Holy Spirit is and how the Holy Spirit works in our daily lives, the point of this lesson was to challenge us not to only join the football huddle (Sundays) but rather to run the play (the rest of the week)!  Ask yourselves, "Are the truths we are learning about the Holy Spirit shaping how we act?
 
Who is the Holy Spirit? (Acronym to help you remember-God HOPED Prayerfully)
 
GOD-Acts 5:3-4
H-holy and eternal-Hebrews 9:14, Romans 1:4
O-Omniscient, Omnipresent and Omnipotent-Ps. 139:7-8, I Cor 2:10
P-person-John 14:16-17
E-emotional-Eph 4:30
D-desires and will of the Holy Spirit-I Cor 12:4 and 11
Prayerfully-Holy Spirit prays for us-Romans 8:26-27
 
All that said...Isaiah 40:13 "Who can fathom..."
 
How does the Holy Spirit work in our every day lives?
-helps us in precarious situations when we need to bear witness
-comfort, advice, encouragement, strength
-draws us closer to Jesus/God, equips us
-sets us free from sin-partnership
-bears witness to us that we are God's children
-convicts us of sin
-life and freedom
-hope which leads to joy and peace
-kingdom of community-common good
-fruit of the Spirit-sanctifier
-helps in weakness-intercedes
 
Reflect on how the disciples were changed after the gift of the Holy Spirit (Peter, Stephen, Paul)
 
Conclusion: The facts are irrelevant until they are put to use!
