At Crosthwaite Church, on the 26th Dec. Mr. Jos. WREN, to Miss Mary MATTHEWS, both of Keswick. Same place, on the 31st, Mr. Joseph GIBSON, of Millbeck, to Miss Sarah MARK, daughter of Joseph MARK, of Great Crosthwaite.

 

Monday, at Whitehaven, B. SPROULE, Esq. R. N. to Miss TAYLOR, of Lowther-street.—On Saturday last, at St. Bees, the Rev. Mr. GREENHOW, of Riddings, near Threlkeld, to Miss Elizabeth IRWIN, of Peck Mill, near St. Bees.

 

At Harrington, Capt. Wm. SEWELL, of the Maria, to Miss Mary TAGGART, youngest daughter of Capt. John TAGGART, of Harrington.—At Brigham, Mr. Thomas ROBINSON, to Miss Eliz. MINACAN.—At Flimby, Mr. Rich. GILL, to Miss Sarah TICKELL.—At Crosthwaite church, Mr. Joseph WRENN, to Miss Jane MATTHEWS. [According to FamilySearch, Joseph WREN and Mary (not Jane) MATTHEWS married on 26 Dec 1825 at Crosthwaite, Cumberland.]

 

At Appleby, on Monday last, Mr. James TROUGHTON, rope-maker, Kendal, to Miss Jane STEELE.

 

At Kirkby Lonsdale, Mr. Robert LOWTHER, of Fearnside, to Miss Elizabeth JENKINSON, of Bolton-le-moors.

 

At Kendal, the Rev. Jos. FAWCETT, curate of Kendal parish church, to Mrs. Elizabeth CHRISTON, of that town. [According to FamilySearch, they married on 29 Dec 1825.]

 

At Dumfries, on Monday, Mr. John LEWIS, hosier, Dalbeattie, to Miss Margaret CUNNINGHAM, late of Invergordon Castle. At Brimmle, near Lochmaben, Mr. Andrew IRVINE, merchant, Annan, to Miss PATERSON, of the former place.

 

Wednesday morning, at St. James's Church, London, Col. Sir Robert ARBUTHNOT, K. C. B. of the Coldstream Guards, to Harriet, third daughter and coheiress of the late Thomas SMITH, Esq. of Castleton Hall, Rochdale, Lancashire.

 

On the 31st ult. at Marcham, Berks, the Rev. Wm. BUCKLAND, D. D. Professor of Mineralogy and Geology in the University of Oxford, and President of the Geological society of London, to Mary, eldest daughter of Benjamin MORLAND, Esq. of Sheepstead House, near Abingdon.

 

At Mary-la-bonne, Church, London, on the 17th ult., William Knight DEHANY, Esq. Solicitor to the Excise in Scotland, to Elizabeth Favell, second daughter of Vice-Admiral SCOTT.

 

At Kirk Braddan, Isle of Man, Henry GRAVES, Esq. Comptroller of the Customs at Peel, to Mrs. WOOD, of Douglas.

 

Amongst other curiosities exhibited in Yorkshire at this season, is the marriage of Mr. PANTRY to Miss BACON.
