The 22d ult. at Bowness (by the Rev. Mr. HARRISON) Mr. William PATTINSON of Fingland, to Miss Nancy BELL of the same place.

[According to FamilySearch, William PATTINSON, aged 27, and Ann BELL, aged 29, married 22 Jul 1779 at Bowness on Solway.]

 

A few days ago at Ulpha, Mr. James ATKINSON, M. M. to Miss Rachel TYSON of the same place.

[According to the Copeland Registers Index, James ATKINSON of Hawkeshead and Rachel TYSON of Ulpha married on 26 Jul 1779 at Ulpha.]

 

DIED

 

Friday last, near the Market-place, after a short but severe illness, Mr. John BECK (in the 49th year of his age) formerly of King-street, but late a partner with Messrs. ROBINSON & Co. He was an industrious honest man, and much respected.

[According to the Copeland Registers Index, he was buried on 01 Aug 1779 at St. James, Whitehaven.]

 

The 25th ult. at Kirkbampton, Mr. Joseph HORNSBY, an eminent millwright in that place.

[According to FamilySearch, Joseph HORNSBY, aged 29, was buried on 21 Jul 1779 at Kirkbampton.]

 

On the coast of Calabar, the 4th of July, 1778, (though no account was received 'till last Saturday) Mr. Michael COLLINS, jun. son of Mr. Michael COLLINS, merchant, in this town. He was in his 20th year, and a very promising young man.

 

Last week in Liverpool, Mrs. FLETCHER, wife of Mr. Jacob FLETCHER, formerly of this town.
