MARRIAGES.
At Saint Cuthbert's Church, in this City, on Sunday last, Mr. Thomas HETHERINGTON, to Miss Margaret JOHNSTON. On Monday, Mr. William SMITH, to Miss Jane SHURANTON. On Tuesday, Mr. Matthew WEBSTER, Inn-keeper, to Miss Margaret CARNELLAY.
On the 10th instant, by the Rev. T. LOWRY, D. D. Captain William HODGSON, h. p. 5th Dragoon Guards, to Sarah, only daughter of Ward CADOGAN, Esq. of Brinkburn Priory, in the County of Northumberland. [According to FamilySearch, they married at Burgh by Sands.]
Also at Crosby, on the same day, by the Rev. Dr. LOWRY, Mr. John BELL, to Miss Mary WATSON.
On the 3rd instant, at Kirklinton, by the Rev. Mr. PATTINSON, Mr. David ARMSTRONG, of Roughlonning, joiner, to Miss Sarah RIDLEY, of Netheronset.
At Thursby, on the 15th instant, Mr. THOMPSON, of Slack, Westward, to Mary, only daughter of Mr. WILSON, of Thursby.
At Penrith, on the 10th, John WILSON, to Mary Ann HONLEY [according to FamilySearch, the bride's surname was HORSLEY, and they were both single]. Same place, 15th, Thomas KENDAL, of Crosby-Ravensworth, to Mary WILLIAMSON, of Penrith.
On Saturday last, at Egremont, Mr. Thos. CAMERON, shoemaker, to Miss Betsey GARDNER.
At Crosthwaite Church, Mr. William FORSTER, to Miss Margaret JOHNSTON, both of Keswick. Same place, Mr. John MUSGRAVE, clock and watch maker, to Miss BEWSHER, both of Keswick.
At Easley, Yorkshire, Lieut.-Colonel Henry LANE, to the Hon. Harriet Frances DUNDAS, second daughter of Lord DUNDAS.
At Dumfries, on Monday, Mr. Robt. BURGESS, stocking manufacturer, Dumfries, to Miss Janet CHALMERS, daughter of Mr. William CHALMERS, gardener. Same day, Mr. George IRVING, to Miss Jane GRIVE. Last week, Mr. James EDGAR, mason, to Agnes, second daughter of the late Mr. John NELSON, mason. At Closeburn village, on the 9th, Mr. William MAXWELL, to Miss COLTART. Some [sic] day, at Lakehead of Closeburn, by the Rev. C. ANDERSON, Mr. John BROACH, to Miss Ann HUNTER. Same day, at Burnhead, by the Rev. John BROWN of Glencairn, Mr. David BURGESS, to Miss Elizabeth HAIRSTANE. Same day, at East Morton, by the Rev. Mr. GRACIE, Mr. Robert M'GHIE, to Miss Catharine M'CONNAN.
At Springfield, Gretna Green, on the 28th Nov., Mr. GROOMBRIDGE, of London, to Miss Agnes LINTON, Carlisle. Same place, on the 1st inst., Mr. Charles Henry FITZNEVILLE, of Durham, to Miss E. FAIRCLOUGH, of St. Nicholas parish, Durham.
On Monday last, at Sandon, Staffordshire, Stuart WORTLEY, jun. Esq. to Lady Georgina RYDER, daughter of the Earl and Countess of Harrowby.
DEATHS.
On the 9th inst. in the Three Crowns Lane, English-street, Carlisle, Mr. Thomas THOMPSON, aged 58.
In this City, on Monday last, Ann, wife of Mr. John WEEKS, aged 47; deeply and sincerely regretted.
On the 11th inst. at Greenhead Glasgow, after a lingering illness, Miss Elizabeth LOWRY, daughter of the late Mr. Richard Musgrave LOWRY, aged 26.
On the 10th inst. at Croscannoby, Mr. Leonard BARWISE, black-smith, to Mrs. Grace GARVEY, both of Maryport.
On Sunday last, at Workington, Mr. Seymour MOORE, mariner of the brig Grace, to Miss Sarah BROWN, of Bearpot near Workington.
On the 2d inst. Mr. Peter BOWMAN, aged 23 years, late student at St. Bees. Whilst on his passage to Dublin to attend the University, he was unfortunately washed overboard the brig Ellen, THOMPSON, of Whitehaven, along with the Captain and two boys.
At Harrington, Mrs. Mary HARRIMAN, aged 82.
At Workington, on the 7th, Mr. Joseph JACKSON, aged 68. On the 9th, Miss Joyce PERRY, aged 22.
At Cockermouth, Mr. Wm. ALLISON, currier, aged 75.
On the 7th inst. at Keswick, Mrs. Mary WILKINSON, in her 88th year.
At Longtown, on Saturday last, Mr. George MARRS.
At Annan on the 11th inst., Mr. James METCALF, to Miss WISLON [sic], daughter of Mr. Benjamin WILSON, dyer, of Maryport.
In London, on the 2d instant, Mr. James BURNIE, a native of the parish of Ruthwell, where he has left a widowed mother, and a numerous circle of relations.
At Douglas, Isle of Man, Mr. John CHRISTIAN. At Ramsey, Mary, wife of the late Robert CALLOW, 65.
In London, of a sudden attack of erysipelas, Rear Admiral BINGHAM. He had just completed his preparation for departing for India in order to assume the command in chief of his Majesty's ships in that quarter.
On Monday night last, Mr. John KIRK, about 30 years of age, seaman on board the Eliza, fell overboard and perished about two hours after the vessel sailed from this port for Dublin.—Cumberland Pacquet.
