A few days ago, John TIFFIN, Esq. of Cross-hill near Wigton, no [sic] Miss ROOKE of Bridge, an amiable young lady with a fortune of 5,000 l.

Lately at Earsdon in Northumberland, John FENTON, Esq of Lancaster, to Miss Frances DELAVAL, daughter of Sir John Hussey DELAVAL, Bart. of Seaton Delaval.

DIED
A few days ago at Hull, Samuel WATSON, Esq. his fortune, supposed to be 80,000 l. devolves to John THORNTON, Esq. merchant in London.

Saturday last, at Maryport, Mr. Amos BEEBY, formerly a captain of a ship out of that place.
[According to the Quaker Register, Amos BEEBY, Ship Master of Mary Port, aged 48, died on 29 Aug 1778, and was buried on 31 Aug 1778 in Friends Burying-Ground at Allonby.]
Sunday last, in an advanced age, Mr. William CHAMBERS, an eminent mathematician and school master in this town.
