Tuesday last in Newcastle, Mr. Wm. LEATON, many years principal steward to the family of BOWES at Gibside: he is said to have died possessed of 40,000 l.

 

Last week, at Durham, Mr. Peter BLENKINSOP, in the 76th year of his age: he had been 64 years in the choir of the cathedral there.

[According to a transcription, made in 1880, of his monument in St. Oswald's Churchyard, Durham, he died on 04 Dec 1778 aged 75.]
