[According to the Copeland Registers Index, the bride's forename was Jane; they married on 19 Dec 1777 at St. James, Whitehaven.]

 

A few days ago, at Newton near Penrith, Mr. STALKER of Unthank, to Mrs. ATKINSON, widdow.

[According to FamilySearch, John STALKER, aged 33, and Rachel ATKINSON, aged 29, married on 08 Sep 1777 at Skelton (not Newton), Cumberland.]

 

Thursday se'ennight at Graystock, Mr. John HAMMOND, mason at Hutton Roof, to Miss Molly GILL of Southscale.

[According to FamilySearch, the bride was Mary GILL; they married on 11 Dec 1777 at Greystoke.]

 

By the Rev. Mr. DOCKREY, Sunday last, at Gosforth, Mr. NICHOLSON of Eskdale, to Miss Jane RUSSEL of Kemble-Rig, in same parish.

[According to the Parish Register Transcript, Thomas (not William) son of John DAND, Mains & Elizabeth his wife, an Infant, was buried on 14 Dec 1777 at Wigton.]

 

Thursday last at Carlisle, Thomas BENSON, Esq. a gentleman sincerely regretted by a numerous acquaintance.
