A few days ago at Eskdale Chapel (by the Rev. Mr. MARSHAL) Mr. Joseph ROGER of Dalegarth Hall, to Miss VICARS of Toughs.
[According to the Copeland Registers Index, Joseph ROGERS and Elizabeth VICCARS married on 09 Aug 1777 at Eskdale.]
Last week, Capt. SHAW of the Queen's regiment, quartered in Newcastle, to Mrs. OGLE of that place, an accomplished lady with a fortune of 1600 l. a year.

DIED
Saturday se'ennight, at Penrith, after a long illness, Capt. Henry HALKER, in the 35th year of his age.
[According to the Parish Register Transcript, Mr. Henry HOLKER, aged 33, was buried on 02 Sep 1777 at St. Andrew, Penrith.]
A few days ago, suddenly of the gout in his stomach, John LIDDERDALE, Esq. of Castle-milk, in Dumfries-shire, aged 64.
Last Saturday in this town, Mrs. BENN, of Snellings near St. Bees.
