Last week at Harrington, by the Rev. Mr. OTLEY, Mr. Benjamin BACON, to Mrs. LITTLEDALE, both of that place.

[According to the Copeland Registers Index, the bride's forename was Sarah; they married on 09 Jul 1778.]

 

At Bath, Thomas Samuel JOLLIFFE, Esq. (brother to William JOLLIFFE, Esq. of this county) to Miss TWYFORD of Charleton House near Bath.

[According to the Parish Register, Thos. Samuel JOLLIFFE of the Parish of Catherington, Hants, and Ann TWYFORD of this Parish, married on 23 Jun 1778 at Kilmersdon, Somerset.]

 

Sunday se'ennight at Wigton, Henry LOWES, Esq. Attorney at Law, to Miss CAPE of Wigton, with a fortune of 4,000 l.

[According to the Parish Register Transcript, Henry LOWES, widower, aged 37, and Ruth CAPE, singlewoman, aged 24, both of this parish, married on 05 Jul 1778 at Wigton.]

 

Wednesday last at Skelton by the Rev. Mr. BROWN, Ralph COOKE of Penrith, Esq. chief steward to his grace the Duke of Portland of his Lordship's forest of Inglewood, (descended from the noble family of the STANLEYs Earls of Derby) to the very agreeable Miss DAWSON, daughter of George DAWSON of Unthank Esq. with a fortune of 4000 l. Immediately after the ceremony they set off on a tour through England.

[According to the Parish Register Transcript, Ralph COOKE of St. Andrew's Parish Penrith and Frances DAWSON married on 08 Jul 1778 at Skelton.]

Wednesday last, Mr. Thomas GRAYSON, aged 67, an eminent master mason, in this town, and a person of fair character.

[According to the Copeland Registers Index, Thomas GRAYSON of Senhouse Street was buried on 09 Jul 1778 at St. Nicholas, Whitehaven.]

 

A few days ago in Kent, James BURROW, Esq. (son to the late Collector BURROW) Collector of Halifax in Nova Scotia, and one of his Majesty's Council of that Province.

[According to FamilySearch, James BURROW was buried on 20 Jun 1778 at Bromley, Kent.]

 

Lately at New York, Mr. James WILSON (son of Capt. Joseph WILSON of this town) a very promising youth, and greatly beloved by his acquaintances.
