A few days ago, at Penrith, Mr. Thomas HODGSON, attorney in Carlisle, to Mis [sic] JAMES of Thornbarrow.

[According to the Parish Register Transcript, Thomas HODGSON of St. Mary's parish Carlisle, Batchelor, and Mary JAMES of this parish, spinster, married on 15 Feb 1779 at St. Andrew, Penrith.]

 

DIED

 

Last week at Ramsey in the Isle of Mann, Mrs. Ann VINCELY, aged 66, many years a schoolmistress in that place, which office she discharged in a manner that gained her much friendship and respect.

[According to Manx National Heritage, Ann VINCELY was buried on 04 Feb 1779 at Maughold.]
