Sunday last at Abbey Holme, by the Rev. Dr. KAY, Capt. Francis ASHBOURN of Liverpool; to Miss Fanny GLAISTER of Saltcoat in Holme Cultram.

[According to a transcription of the Bishop's Transcripts, Francis ASHBURN of the Parish of Bromfield and Fanny GLAISTER of this Parish married on 18 Apr 1779 at Holme Cultram.]

 

Last week, Mr. STEPHENSON, attorney at law in Penrith; to Miss BRISTO of the same place.

[According to the Parish Register Transcript, William STEPHENSON, Batchelor, Gentleman, aged 27, and Barbara BRISTO, spinster, a minor, both of this parish, married on 20 Apr 1779 at St. Andrew, Penrith.]

 

Lately in Scotland, Mr. William NELSON, attorney at law in Penrith; to Miss PORTHOUSE of Penrith.

 

DIED

 

Wednesday last at Hensingham, Mrs. BENN, lady of Anthony BENN, Esq. on Saturday last her remains were interred with great solemnity at Trinity church.

[According to the Copeland Registers Index, Margaret BENN, wife of John (not Anthony), aged 35, was buried on 24 Apr 1779 at Holy Trinity, Whitehaven.]

 

Saturday last (in the 32d year of his age) after a lingering illness, which he bore with great fortitude, Henry LITTLEDALE, Esq. an eminent attorney in this town. He was justly esteemed while living as a gentleman of the strictest integrity in his profession, and by his death (sincerely regretted by a numerous acquaintance) society has lost a worthy member. His remains will be intterred [sic] this afternoon with great solemnity at the Old Church.
