Dear Luis  . . .

I would dearly love to include information in Somos Primos about your ancestor that fought as a Confederate in the American Civil War.  That is the kind of information that can help people understand the historical links that connect Mexico and the  U.S..  Would you consider writing a piece.   Hugs, Mimi

Dear Mimi,

Thanks for consider this information for Somos Primos. Honoré and some of his brothers and sisters moved from New Orleans to Matamoros Tamaulipas around 1865, at the end of the civil war, they opened a few family business.

That's how the name DESSOMMES arrived to Mexico.

Regards,
Luis

Hi Luis . .

When did the Dessommes families first arrived in New Orleans?  What brought them there?   Why did they move to Mexico, instead of staying in the U.S.?  What family businesses did they start?  Are those businesses still within the family?

These migrations is what is so fascinating . . .  hugs, Mimi
