Hi,
I found GeneMapp to be extremely helpful in visualizing data.
However, I am totally bewildered by the sets of MAPPs (the available
compilation of MAPP files) that I could download from the GeneMapp
website.

Currently, I have 4 folders of MAPP files that I downloaded (I work
with mouse data), they are:
Mm_KEGG_CONVERTED_20041110
Mm_Extended_20061002
Mm_Contributed_20080619
MM GO

As I am mainly interested in the KEGG pathways,I want to paint the
different KEGG pathway pictures. However, I found that the MAPPs files
in Mm_KEGG_CONVERTED_20041110 are not comprehensive of the KEGG
database. Is that any latest update? If not, how to I construct (in an
efficient manner) many of the unpresented KEGG pathway into MAPPs (eg,
the PPAR signaling pathway in KEGG) is currently not in
Mm_KEGG_CONVERTED_20041110 or any other folder.

Thanks!

Hi Alice,

Thank you for your interest in GenMAPP.

We are no longer updating the GenMAPP 2.1 program, as we are working
on the next version of GenMAPP, called GenMAPP-CS, which will be
available later this fall. Because of this, we are no longer updating
the MAPP files either.

However, there are newer versions of the KEGG pathways available for
the PathVisio program (www.pathvisio.org). If you are familiar with
GenMAPP, PathVisio will be easy to use as it shares many features and
design aspects. The PPAR pathway you mentioned is available in the
latest KEGG archive for PathVisio. However, KEGG has closed access to
their xml files for programmatic use, so we will not be updating our
existing KEGG pathway archives.
In addition to the KEGG pathways, you also get access to all pathways
at WikiPathways (www.wikipathways.org) through PathVisio. WikiPathways
has all the original GenMAPP pathways in addition to many new pathways
not available in MAPP format.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Regards,

Kristina
