New to List, in NYC

I'm new to the list and live in the NYC area. I'm not very familiar
with the area yet, so any recommendations for good fishing locales
would be great, as well as anyone who's in the area and needs a
fishing pal.

So, I like fishing freshwater like small lakes and ponds to relax
(though other fishing I enjoy too). What's good like that around?
