GICD Plant Sales – 2012
Tomato Plant
Sale
Special for all community garden members and
supporters

When:  Saturday March 17  (and if they last, we will continue on Saturday March 24)
               10 am to 4 pm

Where:  CENTER FOR GROWING PEOPLE greenhouse, Our Saviour Community Gardens,
                 1616 N. Jim Miller Rd.

It is tomato planting time!!!!.  Once again Gardeners in Community Development has grown the best varieties for you to plant in your garden.

We have 20 great varieties this year, most of which have proven excellent producers for many years for our community gardeners, with a few new ones worth a try.

This year’s plants are spectacular, and as usual, they are some of the best looking ever!

The price is $2 eachThey are grown in 18 oz drink cups so they have great roots and are easy to un-pot.

We will sell no more than 8 plants per gardener, and only 4 of each variety.  That should be plenty for most community garden plots, and that way these superior plants can be enjoyed by more gardeners.

Are GICD tomatoes plants the best?  We are certain they are!   We grow from seed using our own compost, organic methods, and hundreds of volunteer hours go into potting, nurturing, and tending the greenhouse.  We water our plants with compost tea brewed in our greenhouse, and using worm castings from our own bins, to get healthy plants with strong root systems.   Each year we get reports that our plants outperformed those from other sources.  We know from over 16 years of experience growing tomatoes in the Dallas area, that our plants and the gardeners that plant them are the very best.

Please download the list of this year’s varieties and make your choices before coming to the sale.  Come early, because when they are gone -- that’s it!
