We are looking for a Java GUI programmer to build authoring tools for
the award winning Tactical Language and Culture Training system. The
system throws learners into a rich story driven game world where they
get to practice communication skills in a foreign language and culture
by interacting verbally and nonverbally with AI characters. For more

both web and desktop applications using client-side Java. Experience
with the following technologies is a plus: game programming, speech
recognition, AI, agents, education software, natural language processing.
The candidate should have good design skills and the ability to work
with and integrate a number of disperse technologies. Flexibility and
curiosity to learn new technologies is very important.
We are looking for a candidate who likes to get things done and enjoy
having real users employ the software he/she creates.
This is a full time position.
Education and experience desired:
* 3+ years of programming experience.
* B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent.
Technical skills desired:
* Fluency in Java, especially client-side technologies (Swing, SWT,
XML processing libraries, etc.).
* Experience developing Java-based user interfaces delivered through
the web (applets, Java WebStart).
* Fluency in XML technologies (XML XSD, XSL/XSLT, XPath).
* Experience with mixed applications (HTML/Javascript + applets) is a
plus.
* Experience in script programming (preferably Python or Perl) is a plus.
Other skills desired:
* Proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workload, deliver results.
* Good communication skills.
* US citizenship highly preferred; Green Card is OK. Absolutely no
H1Bs or visa sponsorships.
