Hey game devrs,

I'm teaching a new class this semester and a couple of students from the class found this list and signed up for it. I've been considering opening it up to others so I'm going to allow them to join.  Maybe there will be some synergy between the alumni and the current students or maybe there are some job openings for those out of work this would be a good place to network.

Class is going to be really cool this year. One project the entire team is working on to build an open source game engine which will be very loosely modeled on Fallout 3. XNA/C# and "teach game engine development" were the only directives i was given. We'll be using Agile methodology to run the team which is a great model if you need to manage a dev effort. I have no idea where this will end up, but there is at least a ton of potential. It is the first class where I've had a good mix of digital media majors and cs majors. I only wish we could use C++ as I think it has more value in industry, but I've been fighting that fight for a really long time. In any case, I'm really impressed with XNA/C# at this point so it's not a bad way to teach/learn.

Hope you are doing well.

Wood

Hey Wood,

I'm hoping to audit the class, I wasn't able to make it last night since I had to run some errands, but I'm looking forward to stopping by next week :)
