Every one of you should attend this tomorrow if you can. It is a great opportunity to network with people who have been successful in the business community. Sometimes this group is more focused on biotech, but they do have a very good tech side if you pay attention to which events you attend.

Thomas Berryman has served as President and CEO of WaveTec Vision Systems since May 2005. Prior to joining WaveTec, he was President & CEO of Genyx Medical, Inc., which he founded in 1997. Tom led Genyx through two rounds of venture capital financing, among other things, and negotiated the sale of the company to C.R. Bard, completed March 2005. Prior to founding Genyx, Tom was with Micro Therapeutics, Inc. from 1994 though 1997 as its CFO. Prior to MTI, Tom served since 1985 as CFO in several other early stage device companies in Orange County, including Advanced Surgical Intervention and VLI Corporation. Tom is also an active member of the OCTANe Board.

UCI Collaboration Colloquium

The UC Irvine Eye Institute 2nd Annual Collaboration Colloquium is being held for community ophthalmologists as well as other health care professionals to keep them updated on the latest treatment modalities and research in ophthalmology. This seminar is targeted for ophthalmologists in the Orange County and Los Angeles areas to bring them information on the latest medical and surgical techniques as they apply to the various subspecialties of ophthalmology.

Also, OCTANe's Gary Augusta, CEO, will speak on the OC and So Cal ophthalmology industry and how OCTANe works with the Eye Institute.
