offline aerial imagery now available in Gaia GPS (officially)

Hey folks,

I wanted to let you know that we have an aerial server up and running, and it is mostly complete for the continental US. Currently, you can add the source (CalTopo Aerial) from Settings->Help->Add Topo Sources.

There are other adhoc aerial sources available as well, but for this one, we have an agreement with CalTopo, and we can be confident that it will be available, and we can make improvements to it as well.

Other Notes:
  • In v6.4, this source will be a default source, and we are likely going to remove the Google satellite source, since it can't be downloaded or used with our tracking code.
  • To my eye at least, these aerials have much better contrast than the ESRI source. 
  • I also linked the MapQuest aerial and OSM sources in Settings->Help. The OSM source is very pretty.

Please let us know if you have any comments or questions - if you see any odd artifacts in the maps, please let us know the coordinates.
