New Gaia GPS beta ready for testing

Hello Folks,

We have a new beta of GaiaGPS ready for testing, version 9.1.3. This version adds support for running at native resolution on iPhone 6 and 6+.  I’ve been testing extensively on an iPhone 6, and the maps look really good on that big screen. There are no new features other than that, but lots of bug fixes.

Change log:

* iPhone 6 and 6+ compatibility

* Fixed alignment of maps being off by up to 8 meters at high latitudes

* Fixed gaps in UTM grid

* Fixed tide graph being off by half a cycle

* Fixed multiple crashing bugs

* Changed route maker cancel button title to "Cancel" when editing existing route

* Show progress when clearing map cache

Still can not install this beta. It downloads, says its installing, then says it can not down load, cancel or retry

I’ve hit this a lot in other iOS-8 related app development, too.

I think there’s a bug, or difference of behaviour at least, when iOS 8 downloads and installs profiles. I expect TestFlight still keeps prompting you to install the profile, too?

I’ve not found a fix, myself, yet. I think it’s usually worked ok when the build included the device in the profile, rather than when it was updated later.

It orignal download the test flight profile but I deleted it and the app so I could retry again. Now it will not pull down at all. Any fix for this guys?

when i click on install provisioning profile on the gaia TestFlight page, it goes to the settings app/profile and says no profiles are currently installed, does not install the profile..

Hi Peter,

I just uploaded a new build to test flight, that fixes a minor bug. This may fix the issue that was preventing you form installing it, but It sounds like you might need to reinstall the test flight profile:

1. Open the Settings app.

2. Select General

3. Select Profile - 2nd to last item 

4. If Testflight profile is listed, select it, then select delete. You may have to delete it multiple times to get it to delete.

5. Open Safari

6. Go to http://testflightapp.com

7. Sign in

8. Tap the button in the upper Left to open the menu.

9. Select Devices - Under settings

10. Tap “Reconnect Current Device”

After that you should be able to install the latest beta by visiting http://testflightapp.com or see my email from this morning about the newest build.

This same procedure applies for anyone else that has a new device, and restored it from a backup of an old device.
