I really don't think people understand just how good a GPS the iPad with Gaia GPS is. When I tell people I bring my iPad with me on my treks they look at me like i'm a wacko. But there's just nothing on the market that compares to this combination. Thrown in a spot communicator and you have the ultimate backcountry tool.
