After experiencing an inability to cross the bridge due to locked gates on Wednesday morning, I made a few calls and spoke to the bridge operations manager. The person in this position makes the call of when to close the gates for weather, jumpers or accidents... After useless discussion of why the bridge was closed during a light rain and 35 degrees and why I needed to get to work, she was nice enough tell about a service available specifically to bike/pedestrian path commuters.
