getting to and from the bridge

Does anyone ever take Broadway straight up to the bridge from around
125th street near Fairway where the bike path makes a detour?
I've been avoiding Riverside park on my way home in the summers
because there are too many people. I have been going up onto Broadway
right before the entrance to the water treatment plant then I swoop
down to Riverside Drive around 141st street and then back up again to
Broadway near Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. My whole ride
takes me about an hour and I'm always looking to cut corners and get
home faster. Does anyone take this route or is it too dangerous?

I take that route by Fairway and so far had no problems. I end my ride
at 12th Ave and 131st Street. I have found that there are a lot of
people on this route on the way home but I still prefer it to riding on
Riverside Dr. or Broadway. Once you pass the baseball fields it gets a
bit better.
