Hello,

The Gittell Research Assistance Program pairs together students and professors to conduct summer research, and provides a student stipend. I'd like to apply but I finished course requirements a while ago and haven't been in contact with too many professors outside of my dissertation committee. The program on "cities, urban politics, public policy, democratic and civic engagement, social movements, citizenship and governance, or community practices, broadly conceived, both domestically and abroad". I'm wondering if any of you know of professors who are working on projects in these areas and will be conducting research this summer. I realize these are multiple broad areas, so if you know of too many professors to list, perhaps my areas of specialization and interest will help narrow the list down: food systems, commodity chains, consumer culture, food justice, solidarity economy, diverse economies, participatory democracy, and inquiry-based education.

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions! I'm attaching the program description fyi.

Thanks!!
Alex

I just remembered this listserve extends beyond CUNY, so I wanted to clarify that the professors need to be CUNY professors.
