SAND MAFIA ATTACKS MLA KRISHNASAMY
Puthiya Thamilagam (PT) founder-president and Ottapidaram MLA, Dr Krishnasamy, was attacked by Thoothukudi district deputy secretary of the AIADMK, Mr Mohan, in front of the Ottapidaram police on Monday night.
On a complaint of irregularities at a private sand quarry at Panchalankurichi, in his Ottapidaram constituency, Dr Krishnasamy, along with the local revenue inspector and Ottapidaram police inspector, went to the quarry on Monday around 8 pm. However, the group was not allowed inside by Mr Mohan, who reportedly runs the quarry in the name of his driver, Mr Veeraperumal.
Mr Mohan’s men allegedly attacked Mr Krishnasamy, whose partymen retaliated.
On a complaint from Mr Pattavarayan of the PT, the Ottapidaram police registered a case against Mr Mohan and 25 others. A counter-case was also registered against Dr Krishnasamy, Mr Pattavarayan and six others based on a complaint from Mr Veeraperumal.
