NYFC Climate/Water Campaign + Story Sharing

Hey everyone, 

I hope y'all are enjoying this drippy weather. As many of you know, GNOGA is a chapter of National Young Farmers Coalition (NYFC), and the GNOGA organizing team has been in touch with several NYFC reps regarding the upcoming Farm Bill. As NYFC develops/expands their Water and Climate platforms, I am reaching to share a (PAID) opportunity to contribute your stories/experiences as Gulf South growers .

Currently there are only 3 NYFC chapters in the Gulf South! In recent conversations with NYFC, the GNOGA organizing team has been staunchly advocating for the inclusion of Gulf South growers in their platform development -- particularly in the areas of Climate and Water. Their Climate campaign is new and currently in the research phase, and the Water campaign is expanding their focus to the Gulf South (after primarily focusing on drought in the arid West since its inception a few years ago). 

SO. Short and simple, Erin Foster West (Water Director) and Lotanna Obodozie (Climate Campaign Director) are interested in scheduling 30 minute phone/Zoom calls with members of the GNOGA community who have: 

• successfully accessed and implemented USDA programs on their farms
• considered but opted not to implement USDA programs due to lack of access or other constraints
• experienced conditions of excess water or lack of water
• been impacted by hurricanes 

They are offering $75 in compensation. If you are interested and willing to share your stories and experiences with them, please let us know by replying to this email. The GNOGA organizing team will follow up with a short google form to collect your contact info and availability, which we will forward along to Erin and Lotanna. If you have any questions or would like additional info, please don't hesitate to reach out.
