Hey Food Justice Activists in New Orleans....you can weigh in on this funding~!  IT'S OUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!  Look for a survey in the coming days.  We've been doing the "green infrastructure heavy lifting" for awhile now, and that money needs to come our way also!  Tired of the homeless camp sweeps?  Tired of the long waits for services (I just waited a year to have a catch basin evaluated in a section of the city that floods heavily), tired of bike safety laws that cars refuse to acknowledge?  Tired of an administration that moves forward in secrecy?  We sure are....JOIN US.

Do your priorities match Mayor Cantrell's?

Heads up!

Here's the City's Initial COVID Recovery Spending Plan

New Orleans has received $388 million from The American Rescue Plan in two payments. Yesterday, the Mayor released her initial priorities for the second payment of $155 million, which arrived this week. It includes significant funding for Economic Development, Affordable Housing, and Public Safety, and some funds for health, sanitation, and new & improved technology and equipment.

These are preliminary priorities, and they add up to $119 million over the total available. This news is an important step toward transparency, and we're looking forward to learning more specific details from the Mayor's team.
