Charles R --

Greetings from Ranked Choice Voting Maryland!

June has been an exciting month for our team, talking to hundreds Marylanders at Pride events and the Maryland Municipal League Summer Conference. We’ve grown our movement to over 3,000 supporters, over 500 volunteers, and held over 50 events in Maryland. If you’d like to join our volunteer teams and help spread RCV in our state, please sign up here

Recent Highlights

We have a new blog post for you to check out. Communications Lead Owen Anderson interviewed Onboarding Team Lead Sue Neumyer to hear how she became interested in RCV and her experience canvassing at Pride events this month. Read the volunteer spotlight on our blog page.

And lastly, did you see these two articles about RCV in The Baltimore Banner and The Baltimore Sun?!

GET INVOLVED

DC Ballot Campaign

The YES 83 campaign and Make All Votes Count DC is going strong! They are in the final week of signature collection from over 35,000 voters across the city. The next step is to submit signatures to the DC board of Elections, which is slated for July 1. Winning RCV in Washington D.C. will have a huge impact on RCV campaigns in the U.S. If you or anyone you know would like to support the campaign, volunteer and/or donate

Going Forward

We are building a coalition, with leaders from RepresentWomen, League of Women Voters, Common Cause, Women's Democratic Club of Montgomery County, FairVote, and Rank The Vote, to spread RCV in Maryland. If you are part of an organization that would be interested in joining our coalition or endorsing RCV, please reply to this email.

Our efforts are focused on encouraging municipalities to adopt RCV in their local elections. In order to accomplish this, we are building chapters of our grassroots movement in Annapolis, Baltimore, College Park, Frederick, Gaithersburg, Hyattsville, and Rockville. Contact us by replying to this email if you live in one of these locations and want to help out!

If you already signed up to volunteer, but haven’t heard from us, please contact susann...@gmail.com. We are looking for volunteers with social media, fundraising, and public speaking skills, as well as volunteers who are local to all our target cities.

Stay tuned for more updates in our upcoming newsletter for July.
