You Can Do What You Cannot Do

Let's look at two people from the Bible who did the impossible. But they did it anyway, because of God's involvement.

HEBREWS 11:11 NKJ 11 By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age because she judged Him faithful who had promised.

Sarah had a child when she was 91 years old. (Genesis 17:17-21) Physically, it was impossible. She had long since lost the ability to bear children.

But she did what she could not do.

Sarah achieved this impossibility because of God's promise, and because she believed God would keep His promise.

JUDGES 15:14-15 NKJ 14 When he came to Lehi, the Philistines came shouting against him. Then the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and the ropes that were on his arms became like flax that is burned with fire, and his bonds broke loose from his hands. 15 He found a fresh jawbone of a donkey, reached out his hand and took it, and killed a thousand men with it.

Samson killed 1000 of the Lord's enemies with a bone.

He did what he could not do.

No human being is capable of single-handedly killing 1000 people at one time, with no weapon but a bone. No matter how strong or skilled any man maybe, he could easily be overcome by such superior numbers.

But with God's anointing and help -- the situation is different.

With God helping you: you have God's ability to do God's will. You can do whatever God's Word says you should do.

Your sufficiency is of God.

Whatever God wants you to do -- He will help you. God does not play favorites. Just as He helped Samson and Sarah to do what they could not do -- He will help you to do His will -- even if "it is impossible."

Without the anointing and help of the Lord, you cannot. But with God -- all things are possible.

SAY THIS: I can do whatever God wants me to do. Nothing is impossible.

Yours to count on to see India is evangelized in our lifetime. No one can do it alone. But together...we can do it. Let us do it... together...now,

Part ONE.   At the Master’s feet – a devotional message

 I'LL BE BACK

When the great explorer Shackleton was on his quest for the South Pole, he was at one time drove back and was compelled to leave some of his men on Elephant Island, though he promised that he would return for them.

But when he endeavored to get back, he found a sea of ice between him and the island. What should he do? He had promised, and he must keep his word.

He tried to reach them, but failed. He tried again and again, but without success.

Beyond the ice was his trusting companions, who had every confidence in him. They had only a few supplies with them. At that time of the year, it seemed folly to hope for any favorable change in the weather, and he was told that there was absolutely no hope of getting his little boat, the "Yalcho," through the great ice barrier to Elephant Island.

He could not be inactive. He must reach his men; so at the risk of losing his boat and the lives of his crew, he pushed in nearer to the island; and unexpectedly there came an opening in the ice. He hurried in, rescued his men, and in an hour was back again with all on board. Had they been delayed only a few minutes, their frail vessel would have been destroyed by the crushing of the ice as it closed in.

When they were sure they were beyond danger and the nervous tension was over, Shackleton said to one of the rescued companions, "Well, you were packed and ready, weren't you?"

"Yes," came back the reply, "we never lost hope. We believed you would come for us, even though circumstances were unfavorable. You had promised, and we expected you; so each morning we rolled up our sleeping bags and packed all our equipment, that we might be ready." And now they were all safe and homeward bound, happy that they had been prepared daily.

Before Jesus departed from this world, He left a definite promise in John 14:1-4:

"' Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house has many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.'" (NIV)

The Lord is not slack concerning His promises. Make sure you're ready.

Part TWO. Please Pray- Matter of great concern

The Christian community in India, and especially in the Delhi region, is deeply shocked and pained at the bloodshed, carnage and mayhem let loose on the streets, homes and mosques of the national capital.  Let us pray for peace and harmony to prevail everywhere.  The Christian Peace abode in everyone's mind.

Jesus Became Poor . . .

2 CORINTHIANS 8:9 NKJ 9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.

Most people know that Jesus became poor. They just don't know why.

Some people may tell you this verse refers only to being made "spiritually rich." Don't fall for that. Look at the context and you will see it is discussing money.

"Then why aren't Christians rich?"

The main reason is because of a lack of teaching on this subject. Everything we receive from God must be received by faith. If we don't believe it, we won't receive it.

(Jesus died so that everyone could be saved. However, until people hear the message and believe it, they continue lost in their sins. Yet the price has already been paid by Jesus for their freedom.)

Instead of teaching that prosperity is a blessing available to believers, most churches have taught the opposite -- that it was the will of God for us to be poor.

What we need is to hear preaching and teaching about it being God's will for us to prosper. We need to continue in the Word on that subject, to be set free in that area of life.

I am NOT saying being prosperous makes you a better person, or that it is a sign of great faith. I AM saying that poverty and lack is part of the curse -- which Jesus redeemed us from.

God's prosperity is a growing thing that will not destroy you, unlike winning the lottery, or other get-rich-quick schemes. Time and continued obedience to God are required.

But the fact remains, according to Scripture, Jesus became poor to set you free from poverty -- to make you rich.

SAY THIS: Jesus became poor to make me rich.
