"You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love." - Galatians 5:13
Each year St. Michael the Archangel High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana presents a service award to the seniors who demonstrate the best in Christian Service. In April 1997, Abigail Matthews was one of the winners who received the Mother Teresa of Calcutta Christian Service Award.
Her award read: “Abigail Matthews reached her required school service hours and continued to seek ways to serve and encourage others to join her. Service is something that brings her great joy. Abigail has taken part in a summer service camp, in which she lived the life of the poor and served many people who were disadvantaged, disabled and elderly along the way. She also dedicated three weeks of her summer serving with the Missionaries of Charity sisters at their camp for children in poverty. Her undying love for persons with disabilities is seen in an incredible amount of service done through Miracle League. However, Abigail’s heart for service is seen mostly in the small ways that she reaches out to those who others would not even notice. Through her smile, her presence and simple conversations, she has been the presence of Christ to others.”
When we serve one another, we glorify our Father in Heaven. Today in prayer, thank Jesus that He showed us how to serve. Seek to serve others to bring glory to Christ.

The Blessing Of The Lord Will Make You Rich
PROVERBS 10:22 NKJ 22 The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.
All Christians generally agree, that in Old Testament times, God prospered His people when they were obedient. But sadly, because the devil's lies have infiltrated some of the Church's teaching, many do not believe it's still God's will to prosper His people today.
But the Lord does not change. He still desires His people to enjoy abundance. Any problem lies with us -- not with God.
MALACHI 3:6 NKJ 6 "For I am the LORD, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.
For us to receive and walk in God's blessing, we must walk in faith. This is the main problem why Christians today are not blessed. They simply do not believe prosperity is God's will for them. If you don't believe something is God's will, you cannot have faith to receive it.
The cure for lack of faith is feeding on God's Word, which builds you up. As long as you base your beliefs on the circumstances around you, instead of what you see in God's revealed will -- the Bible -- you will not have all that God has provided for you.
We must quit believing the lies of the devil -- no matter who says them. Whatever is contrary to God's Word in the Bible is a lie.
I am not criticizing other ministers or churches. Even Peter fell into the trap of repeating the devil's lies. We all must guard against believing the devil, and stick to what God has said.
MATTHEW 16:23 NKJ 23 But He turned and said to Peter, "Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men."
If you study the Bible you will see that God is clearly for the prosperity of His people, in both the Old and New Testaments.
2 CORINTHIANS 8:9 NKJ 9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.
In the Bible, we are warned against trusting in riches instead of God. There are verses that tell us we should not love money or serve money. But these verses should not be taken out of the context of the whole of Scripture and twisted in their meaning to steal what Jesus has provided for us -- abundant provision in every area of life.
SAY THIS: The blessing of the Lord is making me rich.

JAMES 5:13 NIV 13 Is anyone of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise.
The Greek word translated as trouble in this verse means to suffer trouble, be afflicted, or to endure hardship or evil.
The best thing anyone facing trouble can do is pray. You don't have to know how just pour out your heart to God and discuss the situation with Him.
We are tempted to do many other things: cry, complain, criticize others -- but Scripture says we should pray when we face tough problems.
Notice it does not say you should ask everyone else to pray for you. It says you should pray.
There is nothing wrong with having other people pray for you. But there is something wrong with expecting others to pray, while you never pray.
By praying, we do not mean begging God for help. God loves you, and always desires to assist you.
What is needed is not twisting God's arm to get Him to help. Usually, a part of the answer is God getting us quiet enough for long enough so He can speak to our hearts and show us what needs to be done.
Sometimes we have missed it, and that is why we are in trouble. Other times, we may face trouble just because we live in a fallen world. But always, when we are in trouble, we need to know God's direction as to what to do.
Discuss your situation with the Lord. Lay it out in detail. Often just telling Him honestly about the situation will cause you to realize what should be done. Pour out your soul to the Lord, but also wait in His presence with thanks and praise. Let your heart and mind get quiet. Let God's peace overcomes your turmoil and worry.
God tells us that if we will draw near to Him, He will draw near to us. This is why you should pray. You need God's help. He has the wisdom and knowledge to get you out of the trouble you face.
Direction may not come the first time you determine to seek God and pray. You may not seem to get the answer while you pray. But know this: God is working, and the answer is coming. So keep praying. Keep on drawing closer to God. Help will come.
JOHN 16:33 NIV 33 "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
SAY THIS: When I face trouble I will pray and draw near to God, and He will help me.
