New Semester, New Vision — GMA Debate Classes Start Sep 5!

Hi there,
Remember the buzz of pulling a case together in seven minutes flat? Or the first time a room went quiet because your rebuttal actually landed? We remember too — and we'd love to have you back in the room.
Grey Matter Academy's new semester of debate classes begins Saturday, September 5, and sign-ups are open now.
**A track record we're rather proud of**
GMA students have gone from "wait, what's a POI?" to competing at national championships and international tournaments — and bringing home results, year after year. That progression isn't luck. It's what happens with structured training, honest feedback, and a great many practice rounds.
**Coaches who have actually been there**
Every GMA coach is a debater — former and current competitors who have stood at the same lecterns, drawn the same terrifying motions, and worked out through trial and error what actually wins rounds. So the advice you get isn't abstract theory from a textbook. It's practical: how to prep a case when the clock is against you, how to take a POI without losing your thread, how to sound confident a little before you feel confident.
**Brand new to debate? Even better.**
No experience required and no prior classes needed. We start from the very beginning, and our newest students are often the ones who improve fastest — no bad habits to unlearn. The first few sessions are mostly talking, thinking out loud, and arguing about things like whether homework should exist. Rather more fun than it sounds, and considerably less scary than it looks from the outside.
**Tournaments on the horizon**
Classes are great, but competitions are where it all clicks. Three coming up in Taiwan:
🚀 NCCU Debate Cup — October 3–4.** One of the friendliest tournaments on the circuit and an excellent first competition. It's designed with less experienced debaters in mind, so it's the perfect place to try a real round without championship-level pressure.
🚀 TSDC — October 24–25, at Taipei European School.** A well-established fixture on the Taiwan calendar and a great next step once you have a few rounds under your belt.
🚀 FBPO — tentatively November 28-29.** Dates are still being confirmed, and we'll pass along more details as soon as we have them.
Our coaches will help you prepare for any of these and possibly cheer for you loudly and embarrassingly on the day.

One easy step: fill in the class time survey form here. Once it's in, we'll arrange a short call and interview so we can place each student in the class that fits them best.
