interesting talk if you can make it in a couple of hours --peace, global warming; reasonfest this weekend

Two friends just called. One heard it on the Steve Kraske show (minutes ago?); other is one of the organizers.

Today at 2:30 at UMKC Miller Nichols Library (though it’s not on their online calendar, event has been reconfirmed), Col Wilkerson will be speaking. He was aide to Sec/Gen. Colin Powell during the WMD “testimony.” Says they knew the info reported was very weak, and the resulting lives lost haunt him every night.

He also is spreading the word how the military is increasingly interested (and advocating?) for climate change awareness and solutions because of the massive security implications for USA and the world. Says it’s not a party or political thing but a common sense thing for security and self-preservation.  

Talk should be an hour or less.
