Dear friend,
I have an important announcement to make.
After nearly 11 years, my time as pastor of Germantown Hope Community Church is almost at an end. The last Sunday of February will be our family's last worship with G.Hope.
Christe and I came to this decision after wrestling for many months with the sense that the Lord has brought us to a conclusion of our time of ministry at G.Hope and that he is leading us into a new season of life and a new calling. We don't know what that calling is yet, so it is with both a sense of hope and a little sense of anxiety that we make this move, trusting that the Lord will lead us every step of the way, though the destination is as yet unknown to us.
As I look back on the last 11 years (12 or more if you count the time of preparation prior to our launch), I am deeply grateful for the ways that we were privileged to witness God's grace and power in action, right before our very eyes. God led us to walk with people in the Germantown neighborhood and see them come to put their trust in him, be delivered from various troubles, grow in faith and in their walk with him, and flourish as God's image-bearers. We witnessed the church get planted, grow, and mature over the years in its mission and identity as the body of Christ embedded in our community. We baptized, married, and celebrated God's work in friends' lives. You can't ask for any better court-side seats than that, and I'm so glad that I was there to see it all and be a part of it all. Praise God for his grace.
I want to ask you to please keep G.Hope in your prayers as my family moves on. It is still a small neighborhood-focused church that would benefit from your financial support (no amount is too small--it all goes a long way), prayers, and partnership. G.Hope will need the Spirit's wisdom and discernment in the coming days as they seek to follow the Lord's leading into their next chapter. Please especially lift up the elders, Scott and Kurt, and the rest of the council, Matt and Minda.
I also want to ask you to please lift up Christe and me as we seek the Lord's leading in the coming days for what he has in store for us in our next season. We believe it will be something that has to do with us being on mission for his kingdom in the city, but beyond that, we are not so sure with the finer details. Would you please intercede on our behalf, that the concrete details would emerge into a sharper relief, and that we would have the opportunity to put to use all that we have learned over the years and contribute to the work of the kingdom of God and for the sake of advancing the gospel mission in the cities of the world, whether it be researching and teaching urban mission, a new pastoral ministry or church planting opportunity, or something else altogether.
You have been a good friend in the ministry over the years; I am deeply grateful to the Lord for you, and I hope that this friendship will continue into our new season of life. Please keep following G.Hope by staying with this email list. If you would like to keep up with me and the rest of the Lee family as we venture off into what the Lord has for us next, then please sign up for news from the Lees here:

May the Lord bless you and keep you as you too seek to follow him and live with him as he leads you on this journey.
Shalom,
Kyuboem Lee
