to Friends of Germantown Hope
Dear Friends of Germantown Hope,
I continue to thank the Lord for your support for our church planting
ministry in the Germantown community of Philadelphia. I wanted to update
you on some significant changes coming to our church for the upcoming
fiscal year, which begins in July. Since graduating from
denominational grants a few years ago, G.Hope has consistently spent
more money than it brought in every year. This has meant that we had to
make some very tough choices. I went to a part-time pay status a year
ago, and for the upcoming fiscal year, my salary had to be cut back even
further. I have been carrying on numerous "very-part-time" jobs in order to make ends meet; our new situation means an even heavier burden in the new year. So, in order to adjust to our new situation, I am now actively
looking for a full-time employment that will support my family while
enabling me to continue my work as pastor at G.Hope.
Our new situation represents some grave challenges, but it also
represents new opportunities. For example, we plan to further spread out
pastoral responsibilities among our group of elders--it has been my
privilege to witness the Lord raising them up to their leadership roles
in the church.
Needless to say, your continued support through prayer and financial
contributions is greatly appreciated. Given the size of our budget,
even a small gift will go a long way. If you are able, would you
consider committing to a regular giving? 50 friends giving $50 a month
will help cover most of the shortfall we are experiencing. And if you
know of others who would like to partner with us in the mission to our
neighborhood, please get us in touch with each other. Again, I am deeply
grateful to the Lord for you. May the Lord strengthen you in your love
for him as you also seek to walk with him.
Shalom,
Kyuboem Lee
