Next Version of GED-GEN

I am currently updating GED-GEN to add new features to the program.
The next version will be version 1.8. I cannot yet give an estimated
release date. I am addressing the comments and suggestions I have
received to date. There is still time to submit your suggested
improvements, so please let me know your ideas.
One new feature will be support for source templates, such as those
generated by RootsMagic 4. If the genealogy software program you use
implements source citation templates, please consider exporting and
sending me a GEDCOM file. It can be just a subset of the individuals
in your family file, and you can exclude living individuals. There
are many ways to specify source templates and I'm looking for examples
to use during testing to be sure I have all bases covered.
Another new feature will be multimedia galleries. GED-GEN will
process multimedia like image, sound, video, and PDF files referenced
within your GEDCOM file. It will create a gallery page, showing
thumbnail images, and then allow you to click on a thumbnail to show a
larger view.
Many genealogy programs export multimedia files via GEDCOM in non-
standard ways. I'm interested in supporting all varieties. If your
genealogy program exports multimedia files, please consider sending me
a GEDCOM so I can add support for the program you use. I do not need
the actual multimedia files, just a GEDCOM file to see how it
references them.
