Hi all!

I had my talk today at King's College about "Jobs in IT" and I wanted to write a quick note about it.

First thing I would like to thank both Steffen and Barry for the opportunity. I had *a lot* of fun. I used to be a Technical Trainer and I do miss the talking in front of an audience. And I was well surprised that the students were paying attention! I could see some of them nodding at my comments, smiling at my jokes (I bet it was more about them being polite than me being funny, but hey...), and asking questions at the end.

Second of all, I must say that we should definitely keep doing things like this. Some of the students came to me after the speech to ask me a few more questions. And I can tell they are completely lost about what to do with their careers. They didn't even know how to apply for an internship, which is terrible. I think RecWorks is doing a fantastic job here, but there's a lot more to do.

Finally, I would like to encourage all of you to do this. It's an awesome experience for yourselves, it's good for the students, and it also helps one to understand what can be expected of college graduates and undergraduates.

Cheers,
Tavo.
