College students, kids, middle aged women in rubber boots and woven head gear, and men compelled, invite you to THE LAST ORGANIC OUTPOST this Saturday and Sunday 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.  You have to see it to get it.  A community farm encroaching upon more and more space. Beautiful healthy plant beds centered around an old rice mill in the 5th Ward.  More recently an auto junk yard. Skeletons still remain, an antique art car, VW Bugs, a Karman Gia, and it's still a bit, a lot, industrial.  No flip flops unless you got steel toes.

 

Every weekend folks come and work the vegetable beds, make improvements or hang out, most want to talk to Joe or Marcella, they are the the spirit of the place.  Children play endlessly in the Kiddie Corral, having never seen anything quite like it.  And all leave feeling better.  Hope you will give it a go.

 

There will be music both days, weed eating tours, and general funkiness. Bring all the usual stuff. Lawn chairs, loaded coolers, picnic.  Make a donation to Last Organic Outpost, harvest and take home fresh veggies, including  Romaine lettuce, cilantro, kale, red ,white, green onions, beets, spinach, and much more.  The energy in fresh picked vegetables is UNBELIEVABLE!!
