HOUSTON AREA UU SPRING MUSIC FESTIVAL 2008
The Planets are aligned, the Gods are paid off, the UUs are befuddled,
and the annual Spring Music Festival happens this Saturday, May 10,
3:00 to 9:00? P.M. rain or shine at the UU Fellowship, 1504 Wirt Rd.
77055 . What an incredible pleasure it is attending all eight area UU
churches to promote the Music Festival. UU reactions range from total
glaze over the eyes to “oh yeah, it’s a lot of fun, we go every
year.”
The Music Festival is a lot of event to wrap ones brain around. Who
would have thought that UUs can provide fire jugglers, belly dancers,
hula hoopers, rock and roll musicians, classical musicians and
everything in between, get them to show up at the same place, at the
same time, build stages, provide sound systems and lights, DVD
recording (by MesserMedia.com), security, and EMS, without a notarized
covenant? Come and see for yourself.
Bring your lawn chairs, picnic (food is available for a donation),
favorite beverage (remember the cork screw) , tarp, if necessary, to
put your blanket on, hoops, and all your friends and family. The
event is kid friendly with a large fenced play area. Look for the
police officer directing traffic, and park on the side street or in
the closed down 99 Cent Store parking lot. This is the single largest
gathering of UUs in the Houston area. That many UUs in one place, you
know it’s Good. Thanks for letting this UU have so much fun!! See you
