Hi Dennis,
Can you post the following to the group.
Hi All,
I just talked to Vicky and in an effort to clarify the
game plan for tomorrow's walk here are some answers to
the questions that have been posted here.
Meet at Ward Acres at 11:00 AM sharp. T shirts & Signs
will be handed out. If you have your own signs, please
bring them. This is a peaceful protest, so try to keep
your signs on a positive note.
The walk from Ward Acres to City Hall is 3 miles and
takes about an hour. Some of the roadway is not in
good shape. If you plan on walking the entire route,
you may want to leave your dog home. If you prefer to
meet the walkers at City Hall instead of doing the
walk, then please pick up your T-shirts at the park at
11 AM and meet at City Hall at 1PM.
Those driving to City Hall can bring well behaved dogs
on leash if you want to. If you can only make it to
City Hall at 1PM, that's OK too. The truth of the
matter here is to know your dog. Can they make a 3
mile walk and can you keep a good eye on them so they
don't step on glass etc. You want to make sure your
dog is safe. The protest can be successful with or
without your canine companion. Please use your best
judgment in this regard.
The T-shirts say Raising Fences = Raising Taxes. The
reason that this approach is being taken is because of
all other attempts to make the Mayor aware of all the
positives of Ward Acres in regards to the dogs off
leash have fallen on deaf ears. The one thing that
everyone pays attention to is having their taxes
raised and believe me if they put all those things in
the park that they say they will, then our taxes will
go up and we'll get a park many of us will not want in
the process.
Unfortunately I will be out of town tomorrow and will
miss the walk. Have a great walk! Ruby & I I will be
there in spirit.
Best Wishes, Valeri
