Bill and Leslie,

What is the status of efforts to provide access to the full Vollmer report via the City's website.  I had been under the impression that this matter was resolved.

Thank you,

Noam

In your newsletter of 16 August, 2006, you stated that you supported "the swift implementation of the [Ward Acres Master] plan's core proposals related to trails and park ecology."  (See below for context.)

In that same newsletter, you also said that "[a] full copy of the Vollmer report can be viewed at the City's Website HERE."

I pointed out to you that the latter statement was false, that the entire second volume of the report, including the material on "control of invasive species" was not available at the City's website.

As of today, 14 September, four weeks later, it remains unavailable.

I do not see how there can be any intelligent understanding or public discussion of what you support without either you providing details of what you support or, at the very least, making on good on your statement the Vollmer report can be viewed at the City's website.

Park Master Plan Focuses on Environmental & Trail Restoration

As you may know from previous bulletins, the City has been engaged in a master planning process for Ward Acres, our largest park. Last month, this process culminated with the presentation by Vollmer Associates, our park consultants, of a series of recommendations for park improvements and preservation. The Vollmer report focuses primarily on environmental and trail restoration, including control of invasive species, wetlands management, and other steps intended to protect and enhance the park's natural, unspoiled character. The report also proposes rules of usage for the park, and suggests rehabilitation of the Ward Acres barn. A full copy of the Vollmer report can be viewed at the City's website HERE. The City Council must now consider these recommendations and determine whether and on what timetable to act upon them. I support the swift implementation of the plan's core proposals related to trails and park ecology.
