Thanks to all who
participated in the Rake-a-thon. I hope that your baths have soothed the
aching muscles. The chips are more nicely spread than
ever.
Thanks to all those
who encouraged those who participated.
Thanks also to those
who have contributed funds which have been used for Park improvements,
tools, and maintenance labor.
There is a new
seating area around a fallen log on the north side of the long wall that runs
from the "Forge" to the House. The path to it is covered in wood
chips. It is usable now, but will be better after the first frost kills of
most of the insects.
As evening comes
earlier and earlier, pay attention to the factors that make evenings at the Park
surprisingly well lit:
1. Moonlight
(especially in the period between the waxing half moon and full moon, starting
in about 3 weeks)
2. Clouds, which
reflect light from the cities.
3. Snow cover, which
also reflects available light.
Perhaps we can ask
for some kind of extension of the legal hours for the Park or for a permit to
have after-work and after-dinner walks even after dusk. We would have to
make some kind of special effort to clean up after the dogs, possibly the next
morning because we may well miss our dogs' contribution to soil
fertilization.
