Owing to current problems with UK mail services, we are forwarding a
special message that was despatched earlier to our UK friends. Thank you.
Keren Malki was established on the eve of the High Holydays of 2001 in
memory of Malki Roth z"l, a truly special teenager who dedicated
herself to caring for people with severe disabilities, including her own
younger sister. Malki was tragically murdered in the
Sbarro suicide
bombing. This organisation is her legacy.
Keren Malki empowers the families of special needs children to choose
quality home care rather than an institution. We offer this help in two
key ways: free lending of specialist equipment and paying for paramedical
therapeutic care. We believe that no-one knows better than the family
what's best for their child.
Keren Malki plays a unique role in providing its special brand of
tangible, concrete support. We currently assist more than a thousand
families but we know we have barely scratched the surface of what is
needed. We receive a new request for help every single day but are
already having difficulty in supporting those already registered with us.
Please help us to do more.
The Programmes:
Right to Nurture: We offer up to 75% reimbursement of the cost of
physiotherapy, occupational therapy, therapeutic swimming, speech therapy
and therapeutic horse-riding. Children may benefit from as many of the
therapies as they require.

Keren Malki Equipment Unit at Yad Sarah: We provide home-care
equipment that is generally either unavailable in Israel from any other
source, or prohibitively expensive about thirty different specialist
items. By teaming up with Yad Sarah, we are able to provide home-care
beds, walkers, bath-inserts, hoists and a host of other items to
households where a seriously disabled child is cared for.

Staffing: By employing only 4 members of staff and relying on a small
group of committed volunteers, we have developed a sharp focus and lean
structure. In our quiet way, Keren Malki has already reached more than a
thousand Israeli families, and with your help we will reach even more
this year.
