This recent talk by a Friend of CAHC, Vid. Shriramana Sharma of Kanchi Matha at the Mahakala Conference at उज्जयिनी, is titled "Practical urgency of updating our Panchanga Ganita paddhati-s".

It was incredible to hear that in the year 1877 itself the Kanchi Matha had organised a conference to align panchangas to observations. And that the vakya system used in TN has accumulated its 8 vinadika error (192 seconds) over these years, impacting public festivals and functions today.
