THE SABBATH BREAKER BEFORE THE LORD?
Imagine you are standing before the Lord and you see people trying to
defend themselves by saying:
“Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have
cast out devils? ... and in thy name done many wonderful works? And
then Jesus said to them:
“I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. And then a
man kneels before Jesus and says:
“ Lord, Lord did I not keep the spirit of the Sabbath commandment even
though I broke the letter of the law by working on the Sabbath day?”
And Jesus said: “Did you know the ten commandments?”
Man: “Yes”
Jesus: “Did you know that I warned my people that the penalty for
breaking the Sabbath was the same as for murder?”
Man: Yes
Jesus: Did you know my apostle James said that if you offended in one
of the ten commandments you were guilty of all?
Man: “Yes”
Jesus: “Did you know that James said if you keep kept one commandment
but did not keep another you became a transgressor of the law?”
Man: “Yes – but Lord I kept the spirit of the law…
Jesus: “Depart from me you worker of iniquity!

Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not
prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in
thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart
from me, ye that work iniquity.
Who are those who “work iniquity"? This word comes from the Greek
"Anomia" which means illegality or violation of the law and generally
wickedness. The apostle John used the same word "Anomia" to give us a
clear definition of what true "sin" is. He said:
"...sin is the transgression of the law." (anomia) John 3:4 KJV
Therefore, a literal translation of what Jesus is going to declare to
those who are the workers of iniquity is "I never KNEW you, depart
from Me you that transgress the law.”
Jam 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one
point, he is guilty of all.
Jam 2:11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not
kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art
become a transgressor of the law.
