Hey guys,

I had been using what I think was an AMD part before I brain-farted
and blew it up. So, now I have some new, unused Atmel AT27C080-90
parts that don't boot. They program and verify just fine. They
behave as if no ROM is present at all.

I've used the parts in WMS Dotmation slots before so I know the parts
are OK. But, they don't seem to work here. I'm going to try a
different CPU from another machine tonight to see if it's maybe
marginal timing.

Anyone have wierd experiences with certain ROM brands?

Are you sure the CPU board is jumpered correctly for 8MBit?

Ah of course, been farting around with DE sound boards today so I got
all confused. Having only used 4Mbit eproms I wouldn't be able to say
why, maybe timings as you mentioned.

Well, definitely something about these parts and the WPC board I
have. I ended up finding a different part type and put that in just
fine. It's weird, because I then put these Atmel parts where I got
that one out of and it was no problem. So, I'm not sure exactly
what's going on. The -90 speed should be just fine. At some point I
will have to try these parts in a different WPC board to see if it's
something specific to this particular board...
