The 7th Annual Conference of the North American Brain Injury Society
(NABIS) will be
held October 15-17, 2009, in Austin, Texas. Workshops, panels and
presentations will
involve over 100 internationally recognized authorities on subjects
including:
brain injury research, rehabilitation, funding and policy issues,
case management,
diagnostic and imaging technology, neuropsychological evaluation and
treatment, mild
brain injury, blast injury, assessment, clinical trials, community
reentry, legal
issues, gender distinctions, homelessness, and service standards.
Special workshops
will be held the morning of the conference on Sexuality and ABI, Use
of the Mayo
Portland Outcome instrument, and Forensic Issues. A special pre-
conference symposium
on Wednesday October 14th will present a plan for a comprehensive,
integrative,
accessible, culturally sensitive, long-term and child/family centered
circle of care
for children, adolescents and young adults with ABI that involves
established
pediatric centers of excellence.
